Baby skin
Babies typically have what we would call “normal” skin – perfect in its own right. Our goal is to keep their skin healthy for as long as possible. Skin problems might crop up during breastfeeding due to the mother’s diet, or when the baby is sick or teething.
Baby’s skin is so delicate, so it’s important to use products made specifically for them with a pH that matches their skin. If you don’t have baby products on hand, you can use simple sweet almond oil for cleansing or moisturizing, especially when applied to damp skin. Remember, the more complicated a product (like cosmetics or detergents), the higher the chance of causing irritation.
If your baby seems restless or develops red patches and peeling skin, try adding 1 drop of lavender essential oil to 100 ml of sweet almond oil after their bath. Gently massage their damp limbs with this mixture. Not only does this soothe their skin, but it also provides a calming evening routine for their soul.
